Dr. Luis Bastardo-Zambrano holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad de los Andes, Merida in Venezuela and a Ph.D. in surface chemistry from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. He was a Marie Curie Fellow, University of Aarhus, Denmark in 2005-2006. In his current position as Technical Manager, Luis has technical responsibility worldwide for Nynas base oils. He is the author of several scientific papers in recognised international journals, as well as of a number of articles in trade magazines. His areas of expertise include metalworking, hydraulic fluids and gear oils.
Mr. Mehdi Fathi-Najafi holds a M.Sc. from Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden, as well as a Licentiate of Engineering in Chemical Technology (also from Chalmers). Mehdi worked within the grease industry for almost 13 years as a Senior Development engineer, before he joined Nynas as a Senior Technical Coordinator in 2008.
Mehdi has one patent (Non - Ionic Thickener) and has published articles in a dozen publications covering a variety of specialist areas, including filtration, grease composition, rheology and tribology.
