The shoe fits
Who’s this customer, what do they need? My job is basically about putting myself in the customer’s shoes, to understand their challenges and, more importantly, find a way to address these challenges jointly with the customer. And naturally, the learnings can be extrapolated and used for other customers with similar questions and shared internally to our colleagues.
On the move
I do quite a bit of travelling to support the region and it amuses me how my travel habits and experiences have changed. When I backpacked in some of the countries I now visit for work, the first objective was to see and do as much as possible on a tight budget. Today, a comfortable bed and a good internet connection to be fit for fight for the next day’s programme are high priorities.

It’s a delight to see our daughter doing well in school, picking up the languages, mostly English but also a few words of Mandarin, quickly. Fortunately, we’ve all adapted well, although in some ways Singapore is very similar to Sweden, as it is orderly and functions smoothly – although of course the climate is tropical.
The extra mile
It’s a great advantage to have a genuine interest in other cultures, which is something people in this region really appreciate. Understanding and respecting the cultural codes - simple things like acknowledging seniority – takes you a long way. It’s about a personal impact and many times that is very helpful to get the business done. If you have established that kind of relationship, they will go the extra mile for you and vice versa.
The closure of Group I refineries will inevitably limit the availability of the high-viscosity mineral oils commonly used in tyre tread formulations. Nynas’ new tyre oil offers an alternative with excellent performance. To address the decline of high-viscosity oils and rebalance the heavy tyre oil market, Nynas has developed a new highviscosity tyre oil. Read more about Better grip
