Nynas appoints Technical & Research Director Bitumen

As from 1 December, Carl Robertus has the responsibility for Bitumen’s technical development at Nynas.

Carl Robertus has twenty-five years’ industry experience, including a number of leading positions in the areas of marketing, sales, manufacturing and technology.

Carl Robertus hold a doctorate in Physics. His research included measuring the structure and interactions in micro emulsions with the aid of x-rays. During his career, Carl Robertus has been involved in a number of industry organisations, for example President of the leading European industry organisation Eurobitume.

“I am delighted that Carl Robertus has been able to join us and in truth he is someone who's services and experience we have coveted from afar. His background compliments perfectly Nynas's position as a Bitumen Specialist and will allow us to further develop in this direction", says Jim Christie, Business Area Director Nynas Bitumen UK.

Through its R&D efforts Nynas continues to gain knowledge and develop products that offer sustainability, durability, long-life and lower temperature resulting in reduced energy consumption and lower CO2 emissions.

The brains of Nynas: Rogier van Hoof

Head of Secondary Distribution since 2011, Rogier oversees and coordinates transport-related (when the product ends up on wheels) issues across the globe with suppliers, naphthenic affiliates and customers. He joined Nynas in 2005 as General Manager Naphthenics Benelux, after having worked for 20 years at a major French oil company. Rogier holds a Master’s degree in Business Management, and has also studied Mechanical Engineering. Find out what's on his mind.
