Transformer manufacturing giant Prolec GE has chosen Nynas from among hundreds of international contenders to be the recipient of its Supplier of the Year award for 2014. The award recognizes the supplier who has the best performances in ”service, quality, delivery, cost and innovation.”
Gert Wendroth, Nynas AB president and CEO, received the honor during a ceremony at Prolec's 17th annual Vendor Day held in Monterrey, Mexico. Nynas Mexico's General Manager Roberto Ortiz and Regional Director for the Americas Ana Cura were also on hand for the event.
"This company is characterized by a world class supply of products and its ability to respond to our requirements in a fast and flexible manner. They have maintained levels of excellence in the performance quality of their materials and they use a cost structure that allows them to provide a very competitive value offer,” Prolec GE officials said when presenting the award.
Nynas has been supplying Prolec with transformer oil as part of a business relationship that began 15 years ago, noted Ortiz.
“One of the key messages from Prolec is that they want their own supply chain to be the most competitive in the business because they want their business to be sustainable and to grow. We seem to share cultures in terms of what they want and what we supply. We are one of the suppliers that they believe can grow with them,” Ortiz said.
Ortiz attributed achievement of the award to effective team effort. “We have had Supply Chain always provide the product on time and at the right volumes, we have had constant quality, we have had excellent work from Technical Support. Our Customer Service department has many times exceeded Prolec's expectations and we have been able to build a strong relationship,” he said.
