Securing supply

Nynas is continuously investing in its depots and hubs around the world. By further strengthening the depot network, we can meet our growth requirements while serving our customers with greater flexibility.

Over many years, Nynas has built up an extensive naphthenic global distribution network, a key component of which are its regional supply hubs.

Nynas’ European hub is LBC, Antwerp, and in recent years there have been significant investments made to the terminal to facilitate our growth, boost operational efficiency, and offer our customers the highest standards of safety and quality performance.

One such improvement was the ten newly constructed tanks (with a total capacity of 19,638 m3) taken into service by Nynas last year. The first five tanks were incorporated into our system in October, and the second five followed in December. Moreover, two dedicated loading stations and a rail weighbridge were also added.

“The tanks were designed to futher strengthen our customer offering; some are equipped with heating for optimal storage and loading of higher viscosity oils, and some are fitted with nitrogen and dry air sparging to ensure that, for example, transformer oils can be kept in prime condition before and during loading,” explains Kris Flanagan, Naphthenic Supply Chain.

Nynas also has a supply hub located at the Stolthaven terminal in Singapore. Nynas and Stolthaven recently decided to extend our partnership for an additional five years, enabling us to continue providing a premium service level to our customers.

“Our hub in Asia allows us to easily replenish our satellite depots in the region and deliver products direct to our customers, providing flexibility and security of supply,” concludes Kris Flanagan.
