Nynäshamn, Sweden, 9 May, 9:45 AM

NYNÄSHAMN, SWEDEN, 9 MAY, 9:45 AM: Shift Manager Fredrik Svensson tops up the hot oil that is used to heat the oil supply in the HT2 hydrogenation plant ahead of the start-up after this spring’s turnaround at the refinery in Nynäshamn.

These planned turnarounds are carried out every four years and are important in order to guarantee safe, reliable production.

During the course of the shutdown, which lasted just over one month, approximately 20,000 activities were carried out, involving everything from cleaning heat exchangers to replacing catalysts.

Repairs and enhancements were also undertaken that are impossible when the plants are operating. At the height of activity there were almost one thousand contractors on site in Nynäshamn to carry out this year’s turnaround.
