Bitumen Matters No. 2 2019

Skanska has been renovating large parts of the runway at Göteborg Landvetter Airport. Bitumen Matters was there to experience an intensive night of work as renovations progressed.

Some of the topics this time

  • Road to asphalt circularity. The Belgian Rejuvebit project is investigating the technical, economic and ecological impact of bitumen rejuvenation.
  • Reducing the rate of rutting. A new prediction tool for asphalt deformation, enabled Nynas to quantify the benefit of using polymer modified bitumen (PMB) in asphalt pavements. A reduced rutting rate means less maintenance.
  • Recruiting new talent. “We focus on attracting and recruiting more women”

Extension of Nynas reorganisation approved

Södertörn's District Court today approved an extension of Nynas company reorganisation for another three months, until June 15. The reorganisation process will now continue with a focus on actions for removal of US sanctions applicable to the company and to finalise the long-term funding.
