Bitumen Matters No. 2 2019

Skanska has been renovating large parts of the runway at Göteborg Landvetter Airport. Bitumen Matters was there to experience an intensive night of work as renovations progressed.

Some of the topics this time

  • Road to asphalt circularity. The Belgian Rejuvebit project is investigating the technical, economic and ecological impact of bitumen rejuvenation.
  • Reducing the rate of rutting. A new prediction tool for asphalt deformation, enabled Nynas to quantify the benefit of using polymer modified bitumen (PMB) in asphalt pavements. A reduced rutting rate means less maintenance.
  • Recruiting new talent. “We focus on attracting and recruiting more women”
