Prestigious Appointment

Ian Lancaster has been appointed Associate Lecturer at the University of Derby.

The University of Derby in the UK’s Midlands offers a Degree in Asphalt Technology. The programme is ideal for those working in the asphalt sector. Ian Lancasterjoined the University as a lecturer in the autumn of 2014.

“I teach two courses in the “Binders for Pavement Construction” module. The first course deals with bitumen production, specifications, testing and safety, while the other covers high performance/upgraded binders, e.g. PMB, emulsions, foam bitumen and cold mix technology.

Ian Lancaster started working for Nynas in 1994. He has a Doctorate in Polymer Chemistry and has played an active role in various industry organisations, including Eurobitume’s Technical Committee. He was appointed UK Technical Manager for Nynas UK AB in 2007.
