Nynas has inaugurated its Singapore hub, which increases availability and speeds up deliveries in the important Asia Pacific region. With a storage capacity of 32,000 cubic metres, the hub will receive supply from the refineries in Nynashamn and Hamburg. The Stolthaven terminal on Jurong Island will then supply the local depots across the region..
With the new Singapore hub in place, Nynas has organised its supply chain in Asia Pacific the same way as it has in Europe and the Americas. Previously, local depots were supplied directly from Antwerp, Belgium or the American hub in Houston, USA. With the new hub, Singapore is supplied from the refineries in Nynashamn and Hamburg with an expanded product range. From Singapore the local depots are supplied directly.
For example, the Singapore hub slashes delivery times to about two weeks for clients in Shanghai, Indonesia, Thailand and other nearby countries. With more grades at one site, the hub enables Nynas to supply blends to regional clients faster than ever before, a key requirement in a fast-growing market such as the Asia Pacific.
Local depots supplied via the Singapore hub:
Capacity 32,000 cubic metres storage capacity (an elephant has a volume of about 5-11 cubic meters so you could fit roughly 4,000 elephants into the new storage). 18 storage tanks of variable sizes ranging from 3,500m3 to 250m3. 24 incoming vessels per year carrying larger volumes from Houston and Antwerp. 35 outgoing vessels per year carrying smaller quantities to the local depots.
