Asfalttikallio acquires NCC’s Finnish asphalt business

Asfalttikallio Oy is a Finnish road paving company that was founded in 2012. It is now taking a major step in its continued expansion through the acquisition of NCC’s Finnish asphalt business.

With Asfalttikallio as the new owner there are good opportunities for the existing business to achieve strategic synergies in view of the company’s rapid growth and strong market position.

Under the agreement, which was concluded at the end of 2021, NCC’s entire Finnish asphalt business is being transferred to Asfalttikallio, including ongoing contracts and around 200 employees. NCC’s stone materials business, however, is not part of the agreement.

“This acquisition gives us an excellent opportunity to implement our previously adopted strategy with the aid of the equipment and professional staff being transferred to us from NCC,” says Antti Kalliomaa, CEO of Asfalttikallio.

One direct consequence of the transaction is that Asfalttikallio is advancing its positions in the Finnish asphalt market. According to forecasts, they will achieve net sales of around EUR 200 million in the near future.
