The inspection department at the Nynas Refinery in Hamburg-Harburg/ Germany consists of inspection engineers and technicians responsible for the operational integrity of all pressure equipment as well as storage tanks in both the north and south plants within the refinery.
The main purpose of this position is to assume the responsibilities as an inspection engineer for the north plant by determining and monitoring the condition of the equipment until the next scheduled inspection. This requires close relations with operations, maintenance and turnaround departments, as well with TÜV and the notified authority (ZÜS) to perform and document the legally required inspections on the basis of Pressure Equipment Directive (Druckgeräterichtlinie), BetrSichV and VAwS.
This position also requires performing technical evaluations and issuing recommendations to ensure the operational integrity of all equipment. Responsibilities include consideration and balance on a larger scale, such as inspection scope, repair scope, budget estimates & constraints and planned turnarounds, all while maintaining the operational integrity of the refinery assets.
