NYFOAM - Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA)
Foamed asphalt is a Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA) technology in which a small amount of water is injected into hot bitumen. The water instantly vaporizes, causing the bitumen to foam and temporarily lowering its viscosity.
Foamed asphalt technology also facilitates the use of higher percentages of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) while maintaining mixture performance.
For foaming applications, Nynas offers NYFOAM, a bitumen product delivered at high temperature to provide high expansion and excellent foaming performance.
NYFOAM RE is a penetration-grade bitumen with reliable, predictable foaming characteristics and includes a biogenic component to help reduce its carbon footprint.
All NYFOAM products are paving-grade bitumen manufactured in full compliance with EN 12591 standards.
